    Who can apply to become a mentor?

    Anyone with professional experience, entrepreneurial background, or expertise in innovation, technology, or social impact can apply. We welcome mentors from diverse fields, from AI researchers and startup founders to marketing strategists and designers.

    How much time do I need to commit?

    On average, mentors dedicate 2 to 4 hours per month for mentoring sessions, feedback, and follow-up. The program is flexible and fully adaptable to your availability.

    Is the mentorship done online or in person?

    Most sessions are held online to allow participation from across Africa and beyond. However, mentors based near event locations may also join in-person activities such as bootcamps or the final pitch.

    What’s the timeline of the challenge?

    The challenge runs for five months starting December 1st. It includes four main phases:

    1. Application & Selection (December)

    2. Mentorship & Development (January–March)

    3. Final Pitch Event (April)

    4. Follow-up Online Conference (May)

    What will I actually do as a mentor?

    Mentors support participants by guiding them through their project journey, offering advice, sharing experiences, reviewing ideas, and helping teams prepare for pitches and presentations. You might also be invited to join panels or training sessions based on your expertise.

    Do mentors receive any compensation?

    Mentorship is a voluntary contribution to youth empowerment and innovation. However, mentors receive official recognition, visibility across our platforms, and invitations to exclusive networking events.

    Is the challenge conducted online or in-person?

    The entire program, mentorship, workshops, and pitching, is conducted online to make it accessible to innovators from all over Africa.
